With Larfleeze out on full ecstasy mode about his collection we get many panels filled with his fiery orange. Never satisfied he looks for the next thing for him to have. We learn of how Brainiac’s generosity came to be. An obstacle that will be epic when it unfolds. Inside the collection the Green and Yellow Lanterns try to decide how to protect the innocent citizens while also hatching a plan to get out of there. Elsewhere Hal Jordon and Kyle Rayner are reunited, and it feels so good. And YEAHHHHH Hal finally learns that the Green Corps are back and kicking. I have to say it’s about time. Unfortunately, he is again at a loss of where to find them. As expected the working together of the Yellow and Green Lanterns aren’t doing the whole teamwork agenda very well. They actually end up fighting each other. Seriously be a good time to have the ‘the enemy of my enemy is my friend speech.’ The conclusion is so clever and awesome I don’t even want to ruin it. Just know that these are the men and woman who watch over the galaxies for a reason.
The harsh glow of orange is such a great distinction to the powerful sin of greed, Larfleeze beholds. I love how the artist puts strength into their characters and it shines off the page. With the muscle tone and strong expressions, you truly believe that you are reading about soldiers of the universe. Not to mention the great panels of Hal and Kyle working side by side. His white suit brining a sense of something greater to the universe in trouble.
I’m such a huge fan of this book. Which I find myself saying a lot this week. Great Week for comics, yo. Anyways I will never get tired of the bright colors gracing the pages. With characters with just as colorful personalities. You would think it would get redundant, the whole green light vs bad yellow light or in this case orange, but instead I find myself excited to turn the page to find out what happens next. This story is even more interesting because Hal now finds out his friends are alive so the search for them is on. There’s something for every type of reader in this arc. Legends of yesterday, heroes of 52, and a new twist of colors working together. Just fantastic.
