Ice Ice Baby
Fuego has captured Vic and trying to force her to tell him the cure, so that he can sell it at an unreasonable price. *cough cough Martin Shkreli. Back to the comic world. Uses her advance knowledge and quick thinking Vic turns the Titanic’s heat pulsar into a cold fusion weapon that freezes over the whole Titanic. With Keaton back from the dead, Vic is off to Alcatraz. Vic’s father was part of the six men who caused the new ice age, and Keaton killed him for it. Will these two every be able to move past this information? With just a slab of thin ice between them and Alcatraz the girls make there way across. But to their horror Fuego has made it off the Titanic alive, and is heading towards them on a snowmobile that is crush to crash through the ice!
I love, love, love this book. Every moment is so deliberate and spins together this tale of an almost apocalyptic world. Personally I’d much rather deal with zombies than a freeze over. I compare it to the zombie apocalypse because they share similar characteristics. Both have a hero/heroine who with the help of friends or in this case friendenemies, to survive and make the world they live in better. Also the threat of what caused the actual apocalypse is not the main antagonist. Instead it’s these groups of really screwed up people who make you question, “who would I become in this situation?” The art plays well into this dramatic life they have. Stylistic but still defines the character’s features well enough to separate them from each other. I for one highly recommend this book, and can’t wait to continue following the arc.
