Hell on Earth
You open this book up and think awe I’m glad Chloe is getting a break from the hell she lives in, but nooooo it’s just a memory. In comic book reality Chloe is trapped by Astrid’s number 1 fan, inside his own memory. Just to make the situation worse if you get hurt in here…you get hurt in real time as well. Back in another twisted sort of hell Astrid and the devil baby are having a stand off. Evil baby then does what every bad guy likes to do and reveal their schemes. Schemes that even shake Astrid to the core. Just to make matters worse, Astrid finds out that Chloe and Killian are missing. The world seems to darken as evil begins it’s course through humanity. The baby isn’t the only person causing chaos, Duncan uses the Haverlin brothers to take revenge and beat creature to death…Walking Dead style. Creatures have entered the Clean Room building and laying death and destruction in their wake. All the while Astrid’s number 1 fan is demanding to see her or else the fate of Chloe and Killian are in deep trouble.
Well holy crap that was just awesome. I’m pretty sure the entire issue my heart was racing. This book has easily become one of my favorites of all time. You can’t even compare it to anything really, because it’s such a unique and twisted story. Seriously some of the stuff that comes out of the baby’s mouth actually made my jaw drop, and that’s awesome that a comic can still have that effect on me. That baby trash talk was on the tip of the ice burg when it comes to shock value. Walter Geovani does a great job of bringing Simone’s twisted visions alive on the page. I became a fan of Gail Simone during her Wonder Woman run, but this book has made me respect her so much as a writer! Go to your local comic book shop and purchase this book immediately!
