The Confessional:

So… this is the book we've all been waiting for, that has been hyped all week… we finally know the human Clark Kent is and I have to say that the surprise took me back. In this issue we got two stories, one about Jon and one about Superman, and both were great, though the main story wasn't as good as the backup. The main story was super fast, but really the only thing that happened was we find out that Mr. Mxyzptlk was the human Clark Kent. We learned that he did that to help with the Clark Kent is Superman problem, making it so that Clark Kent and Superman could be in two place at once. I'm going to be honest I never would have thought that Mr. Mxyzptlk was the human Clark Kent, I didn't have any idea who he was, at most I thought he was a clone. While we finally know who he is… I'm still not sure how I feel about it, I mean I am glad the mystery is over with that, but with this crossover just beginning I will hold judgment on that reveal. However, finding out in the back up that he was so sure Superman was going to save him because of their relationship makes me feel sad for him. I mean I never saw him as a bad guy, just a trickster, or even as Jon put it, a kid. So I understand how that let down could change him from a trickster into something more dangerous. With that, the most dangerous thing he has done… he made everyone (I am assuming but for now we know at least just Lois) forget about Jon. Speaking of Jon, in the backup Mr. Mxyzptlk is playing games with Jon, lets him go home if he says the magic word, Jon figures it out and goes home, for a second before Mr. Mxyzptlk pulls him back in for some more games. That's all that really happened in the backup, so we have two stories that didn't really give us to much, but they were well worth the read. The art in the first was… it was the kind of art that grows on you because at first I didn't like it, but by the end of the issue I found myself loving it, well everything except for Lois Lane she just looks like she has no neck in far too many panels; Everything else looks fantastic though. Now the backup, no problems what so ever with the art, in fact I found myself really enjoying the flow and Ian Church and team did a fantastic job on this.
