With the help and love from her friends Diana is finally able to leave the asylum. Now she is faced with the awful news that Barbara has once again been turned into Cheetah. She also has to confront the notion that her past has been meddled with and she’s been visiting an illusion. Diana, Steve, Ferdinand, and Etta head to confront Dr. Cyber and try to find their friend. Tired of the trash talk Ferdinand smashes “Adrianna” but since she’s a computer it of course has no lasting effect. After leaving Dr. Cyber and finding help for Sasha, the unthinkable happens…
Liam Sharp has got to be one of the best artists out there. He seems to be so calculated with every detail of his work. To the ‘sigh of relief’ moment when Diana hugs Ferdinand to the funny transformations Adrianna has in the background; every panel is beautifully laid out. You could also feel Barbara’s pain as she feels the hunger once again. To be able to translate that much emotion through a picture says wonders about the artists. I have only been really getting into Wonder Woman that last year or so, and thanks to our wonderful host Noah I’ve been able to read a lot of back story on her. This issue is a big deal, because it basically will rewrite a lot of Wonder Woman’s past. I’m very interested and excited to see what Rucka has planned moving forward. Especially with how this issue ended. Will Diana yet again be incapacitated?
