The Confessional:

Who doesn't like a good mystery? And this one, has intrigued me. This is a solid book, however you spend most of the issue trying to find a way to keep Dead Water out of the base and we have a torn team, some want to just figure out what it is, how it came to be… while the others want to kill it at any cost. Which includes the use of a briefcase nuke… you know, I don't know what's causing it but let's kill it and possibly spread whatever is causing it across the world. I mean, it seems to me that Dan Abnett doesn't have a positive look on the US military, which you know ends up, at least in this book, turns out to be true. That's when one of the military guys opens fire at Dead Water just as Mortimer and Aquaman power up the shield that'll drive Dead Water out… killing a naked unarmed man. I find this whole story intriguing, and couldn't stop reading until it was over, felt like it flew by. To me it felt like a John Carpenter movie, and I love the sci-fi/horror feel to the book, it lends a little more excitement to the book. The best part is the art, this book is the only book in all of Rebirth that hasn't disappointed, and we're in the 9th month of Rebirth that's a very good thing. For this issue:

Low Holy: ★★★★★★★☆☆☆   7/10
