Strange Waters

Aquaman and Mera discover truths beyond their wildest imagination; but they discover it a little too late. As they explore this new world and realize how the Dead Water transformation works, another crew member falls victim to its curse.

Always a King

Aquaman has been through hell and back since Rebirth started. He’s been beaten to a pulp, stopped a war, been in jail, and has been psychologically tortured. Yet, he remains as good and valiant as ever. Now, he’s on his way to unearthing a whole new world that already feels at kin with him. I think this is one of Dan’s best arcs yet. I’m deeply invested and curious about how these events will unfold, and what they mean for our king going forward.

Don’t be Afraid

There’s a theme of fear weaving through the Rebirth titles lately. We see fear turn a new leaf, and attempted to be used for good in Hal Jordon and the Green Lanterns. We see how fear can paralyze even the strongest among heroes, with Simon and Jessica. Now we watch as the consumption of fear is so strong it turns its victims into literal monsters. One of the reasons DC is so successful because they have a way of connecting ideas and events even if you don’t see it at first.

So What?

Aquaman and Mera just discovered an alien universe that could be a potential threat to their world. Even if this story is contained in the Aquaman territory, I think it’ll still be a high intensity story, that is definitely worth reading.
