Rapid fires consume everything Astrid has built. Only her most loyal and trusted remain behind as she prepares to take on the monsters woven into reality. With valiant effort and precise planning Astrid is able to save the world. But the world can’t know they were almost destroyed by demons can they? No, so Chloe has to do something she may regret for the rest of her life…lie.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it is so bizarre to see that little adorable baby hash out some of the cruelest and scariest words I’ve ever read. It was almost satisfying to finally see it become the true monster it is. I know this is the end of ‘season 1,’ but I do hope Gail continues with this twisted and horrifying story she’s been able to construct.
Gail was able to paint such a wonderful and specific story to read. From the images of an almost cast like system… to the monsters hidden among friends. Every inch of this book was fantastic. Horror, much like the superhero stories, can easily fall into the same old predictable tropes. Considering this, Gail was able to take us on a journey into a whole new type of horrific, that felt fresh and exciting. Everyone should go and find the first 18 issues of Clean Room, and prepare yourself for a ride!
