Nightwing # 21

Writer: Michael McMillian
Pencils: Christian Duce

A bros night out turns into more than the two old friends bargained for. But is this just the beginning for a new menace in Bludhaven?

***NON-SPOILERS and SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM***

Bromance

When things get hard it's good to have a friend you know you can always call. For Wally West, that friend is Nightwing. The two try to have a normal guys’ night out, but get interrupted when a kid stops time to steal. Yes, if we could stop time, I’m sure all of us would use it to steal hot dogs from kids. With quick thinking and generous gestures, Nightwing and Flash are able to stop the bad guy and continue on with their bro extravaganza. But is something else brewing in Bludhaven waters?

The Good Old’ Days

I have to be honest this issue had me reminiscing of the older stories of Hal and Barry, and their friendship. This book was very cute. I found myself smiling through most of it. The art was very new-age classic and kept up with the bouncy feel that these guys brought to the story. Of course we get these two in Titans, but it was nice to see the bond they had outside of being team-members. This book was definitely a nice transition for the Blockbuster arc.

Sum it Up!

The bonds and interactions between heroes, or even heroes and villains is what drives us to continue following their lives. This was a great little interlude that gave us a closer look into the friendship between Dick and Wally. The dialogue was very charming and witty, and you can’t help but smile.

7.5/10
