Jessica and Simon are up against their greatest foes, themselves. Will they be able to prove their worth, or will their own blockades stop them from greatness?
***NON-SPOILERS and SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM***
Just when they think they’re at their limits, Simon and Jessica not only surprise their trainers, but also themselves. Simon finds a way around Kyle’s trickery and bests him at his own game. Leading to some hilarious constructs that you can’t help but laugh at. Meanwhile, Jessica finally womans up and realizes that her will is always with her, just like Sailor moon she brings out her inner power. With this power she begins to kick some serious ass, leaving Guy quite impressed. In victory the two cadets graduate to full fledged Green Lantern members.
Rami, who is actually Volthoom, is searching for the original 7 rings in order to recreate his time lantern. To his surprise, one has been under his nose the whole time, on Jessica Cruz’s finger! Now he must travel to the Vault of Shadows, to gain enough power to be able to steal the ring away from Cruz.
We get a tidbit of some, what I believe is, White Martian action. This takes place thousands of years ago. All we really get from this, is that a White Martian who looks to deal with debts the hard way, gets a Green lantern Ring. I have to say this excited me, because I hope this means Martian Manhunter is going to join the universe soon.
Sum it Up!
Yes, Green Lanterns is finally back on track with an eventful, funny, and exciting issue. Maybe, just maybe, after this issue we are going to see some much needed character development with both Simon and Jessica. Not a panel was wasted, with its beautiful art and gripping plot, I was completely drawn in. So excited to once again be into this book!
