We finally learn Kobb’s deepest secrets. No one could have guessed what happened, or what was to come.

The Elite

Kobb and his granddaughter were citizens of an alien planet that got attacked. Lucky or maybe a little unlucky for them, they were saved by the Elite. We all know that, falling in line and taking orders is never a good thing, but that’s what Kobb and his new found protectors did for Manchester Black. It’s not until it’s too late that Kobb realizes it was a monster that saved him.

There are no shades of Grey with this guy, to him justice is a joke. Maybe that’s why he has such a vendetta against Superman. So much so that he is using Supes own son against him. Even though it’s a little bit for evil, we finally get to see what Jon is capable of. But Superman isn’t alone, as the red flair from his eyes releases those trapped on Black’s ship. Now some of the League members, are here to help. But will they be enough, and will Superman be willing to fight his own son?

Black Hammer

I had to read this one twice, because the whole Star Trek like alien ship threw me off. I almost wish we would have gotten a whole issue, better explaining the events that cost Kobb to become a refugee. It was a great story, just I really needed more exposition on the big bad here to get a more impactful experience.

Sum it Up!

Not your normal Superman book, as this one takes ‘bad guys,’ to an interesting new territory. Wishing I had more exposition on the group that is explored on this issue, because that keeps me from giving it a higher rating. I will say that the events to come that are laid out, sure will be an interesting ride.
