An all out fight breaks between the Yellow and Green Lantern Corps, as the murder committed has come to light. Wil lone lantern take their anger too far?
***NON-SPOILERS and SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM***
Hell Hath No Fury…
Hal is trying to hold back the furious yellow lanterns from taking their own justice out on Tomar-Tu. To make matters worse Guy brings in an unconscious, un suited Kyle Rayner with a Sinestro Corps symbol burned into his chest. Arkillo, a loyal servant of Soranik demands to know who did this. That’s when Soranik emerges from up above to claim ownership of the mark. She then declares that the partnership is broken, because the Green Lanterns are liars, and will never see the Yellows as equals.
John tries to command the situation by reaching out to the Yellow Corps, but they follow Soranik, and she wants to fight. Leading to a glorious splash after splash of yellow and green knocking heads. But little does Soranik know, John installed a fail safe and is able to make yellow rings ineffective against will. This just adds fuel to the fire, and Soranik takes her army and leaves.
If you Can’t Stand the Heat..
Tomar-Tu gracefully takes his punishment, his only request is that his ring finds one of his own kind, and that it does. While John is adjusting to the old new ways of the Green Lanterns, a resurrection is on the abyss.
Sum it Up
I’ve really loved this run, it’s been exciting and surprising consistently. The events of this issue were pushed to the edge of exaggeration it felt. There is something about how these events unfolded that isn’t sitting quite right with me, either way a fantastic read. The twist at the end is going to get a lot of fans excited.
