The Flash # 27

Writer: Joshua Williamson
Artists: Howard Porter & Paul Pelletier
Inks: Andrew Hennessy & Howard Porter

Barry Allen and Thawne are finally going to have a showdown that’s been coming for ages. Will the Flash finally have the upper hand on his life long enemy?

Around the World

Feeding energy off the negative speed force, Barry is consumed by anger and hatred of Thawne. Fighting and throwing shade at one another as they cross continent after continent, they finally end up back at the Flash Museum. Barry tells Thawne that he’s pathetic, but Thawne threatens to never leave Barry alone. With that, Iris incinerates Thawne, despite Barry already have taken his speed force away. What an odd chain of events.

Oh Iris

When Iris confronts Barry, his negative speed force magically drains from him. She’s rightfully upset, and doesn’t know if she can ever trust Barry again. So Barry goes to his lab and pouts. The End.

Sum it Up

Visually the book was fun, but the plot was a mess. For how simple it was, there was way too many shortcuts put in place to get the end. The fight ended up being lackluster. I like Williamson, but this issue felt very not genuine, and almost more of a time filler than a good storyline.
