***NON-SPOILERS and SUMMARY AT THE BOTTOM***

With a Little Help…

Friends are comforting friends, as the Green Lanterns readjust to their old, new way of life. The partnership between Green and Yellows failed miserably, and bonds were broken…or should I say shattered. With Guy assuring Jon he’s still in high standing with everyone, and Hal checking up on Kyle, the high ranking officers move on.

From My Friends.

Before the love fest, we saw a Lantern interpreting a vision he had. When he heads to the rest of the Lanterns with his premonition he discovers that he is too late. Hal and Kyle discover an entire system destroyed, before they can react they are blasted by light. Out of the light comes Orion of the New Gods, who pretty immediately, becomes injured by omega beams. Hal and Kyle get him to the nearest planet to be revived. When he finally comes around and the questing can start, a giant severely threatening robot looking beast smashes into the building.

Sum it Up

The beginning did a good job with having a buffer from the events of the last arc into a new story line. I will say that Hitch has me very weary of anything resembling a big bad monster now, but Venditti is an amazing writer and I’m sure this big bad will have more depth then we’ve seen in the Justice League runs. I do wonder if this book is connected to Batman Metal??

7/10
